This fall season, our student-athletes participated in
Volleyball, Cross-Country and Soccer!
We thank all who participated in making this a season to remember.
Saint Mary Storm Volleyball
Grades 5 through 8
I had the pleasure of coaching both of our girls’ varsity volleyball teams. The two teams consisted of 22 of our finest student-athletes. While there were technically two separate teams, all 22 of our players practiced together, developed together, had fun together, and supported each other on and off the court as one large team. We had a very successful season with countless small and big wins. The coaching staff and I are proud of each and every feat. Of all the accomplishments that our players had, what I appreciated most was the level of commitment, support, and teamwork that the players brought to the team. I personally think that our players enjoyed spending time with their teammates just as much as they enjoyed playing the game of volleyball and winning matches. Thank you to all the parents and school staff for allowing me the opportunity to coach our young ladies, and thank you to our players for such a fun and rewarding season! You girls really are the best!

Cross-Country
Grades K through 8
Saint Francis Xavier School and Saint Mary Interparochial School rostered 26 students from kindergarten through eighth grade for our combined 2024 cross country team. There were five cadette runners (2.5 mile races), nine minor runners (1.86 mile races), five novice runners (1.86 mile races), and six sub novice runners (1.25 mile races). The team practiced three days per week at Lemon Hill, Von Collin Field, and along Kelly Drive on the Schuylkill trail.
The team competed in the Philadelphia Archdiocese CYO league with six regular season races and a championship race at Bishop Shanahan High School in Downingtown, PA. At the CYO championship race, one individual received a 5th place medal, and several runners ran personal records. Some members of the team also participated in the Philadelphia Express Cross Country Series with six regular season races and a championship race at Belmont Plateau, Philadelphia. At the Philadelphia Express championship race, one individual received a 10th-place medal.
Congratulations to all of our runners, and a huge thank you to the coaches and parents who made this season successful! Our students compete under the Saint Francis Xavier Cross Country banner, and their students run under the Saint Mary Track and Field banner in the spring. We are grateful for our partnership with Saint Francis Xavier School
4-6 Soccer
The Burgundy Bobcats 4-6 soccer team wrapped up a truly unforgettable season, finishing with an undefeated record. But beyond the wins, this season was a celebration of teamwork, growth, and most of all—fun! Each player brought something special to the team. Coaches and parents watched in awe as the young athletes grew more confident and skilled with each game. We can’t wait to see what this talented group of young athletes accomplishes next year! - Coach Stephanie
The 4-6 Burgundy Bees had an amazing season, playing with energy, teamwork, and big smiles all the way through! From the very first game to the last, our team of 19 worked together and never lost a match. Every player had their moment to shine, whether it was kicking the ball into the goal, making a big save, or cheering on their teammates. Our cheering section even came up with hilarious chants, with the winner being “Come on Bees! Let’s sting!” Our Buzzin’ Bees showed that with practice, friendship, fun, and fantastic snacks anything is possible. We learned a little bit about the different positions on the pitch, and a whole lot about sportsmanship. We finished the season undefeated (9-0), proving that hard work and having fun are the best ways to play the game! Coach Nick and Coach Maya could not be prouder of the Burgundy Bees! They wish the players and their families a wonderful start to the Holiday Season and look forward to seeing them buzz around SMIPS!
7-8 Soccer
The 7-8 Saint Mary Burgundy Bears soccer team had a good season filled with lots of positive teamwork and fun. Many players developed their skills with lots of personal growth over the fall season. We won our first playoff game, and finished middle of the pack in playoffs. Thank you to all of the dedicated and hard-working players and their awesome parents!
A big thanks to our assistant coaches, Alessandro Oliveto, and Rebecca Ohler!

9-10 Soccer
The 9-10 team brought the spirit, hard work, determination and team work to the field this year. The players showed up and worked hard to gain soccer knowledge and showed their moves on the field throughout the season. Every one of the players took pride in learning their position and improved throughout the season. The team went 9-1 this season, won the first two rounds of playoffs making it to the championship game where the game remained scoreless all of regular play and ended 2-1 at the end of overtime. Every one of the players showed up, played hard, and left it all on the field. We prided the entire season on teamwork and every player played in every game, because that is a team!! The coaches of this team are so proud of all the improvement and all the determination and heart by each player. We are also proud to have the parents and friend/families/school mates and everyone else on our sideline cheering us on all season!! Thank you to you all!!
Coach Julie, Michael and Eric
11-12 Soccer
Saint Mary 11-12 soccer team came together back in August to form the school’s first team in this age division. Our goals were to have fun, work hard, represent our school with honor, and compete for a championship. Despite many ups and downs our student athletes battled their way to a perfect 12-0 season! 2024 SEYAA 12U LEAGUE CHAMPIONS!! Congratulations!
